About the Program

Young Designers Sewing Program, INC

Mission Statement

The Young Designers Sewing Program, Incorporated, is committed to providing youth opportunities to explore their community as well as other parts of the world, enrich their academic and social skills, examine business skills, and experience positive consequences associated with helping others.

Started in 2009 and incorporated in 2012, the Young Designers Sewing Program is an Athens-based, non-profit organization serving young people in the community, specifically those who live at or below poverty level.

Our Focus

Teaching young people in grades 4th-12th the art of sewing, as well as other skills that prepare them for the future such as: social skills, etiquette, workplace readiness, basic business principles and practices, and much more.

Our Goal

To not only prepare members for the future, but also to show them how much they are capable of, and how bright the futures are that await them.

Giving Back

YDSP also focuses on giving back. Members complete community service projects throughout the year, helping them gain a better understanding of the world around them.

As previously stated, we are a nonprofit organization. Our existence is thanks to the generosity of others. We would not be where we are today without such generosity.

We are forever grateful!
